Started in 1929 by Charles and Ed Jacobson, Standard Washer & Mat was housed in the Adams Mill ragpicker
house in Manchester, Connecticut. The company was originally involved in making leather knife and hammer
handles and door mats. The company's unique, interchangeable tooling system was created by the Jacobsons
and is still being used!
Today Standard Washer has grown to focus on non-metallic washers and gaskets. Not only do we produce
non-metallic stampings for many other gasket and seal companies, but we also have customers in the automotive,
electronic, communications, medical, toy and many other industries. We export to international destinations
such as Canada, Mexico, Singapore and Australia.
Currently we are housed at 299 Progress Drive in Manchester, Connecticut. Our modern 15,000 square foot
facility houses both our sales and production departments. This guarantees that Standard Washer can
communicate answers quickly and effectively.
